August 31, 2012 (Washington DC) - HN Consulting participates in the White House Business Council AAPI Small Business Forum. The forum is organized by the White House Office of Public Engagement, White House Business Council, White House Initiative on Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The forum provides AAPI small business owners and community leaders the opportunity to directly engage senior White House and Administration officials on concerns important to small business.
Chris Lu, Assistant to the President, Cabinet Secretary, and Co-Chair of the White House Initiative on AAPIs will address forum attendees. The keynote speaker is Marie Johns, Deputy Administrator of SBA. She highlights SBA accomplishments and discusses SBA programs, including the work on Access to Capital.
Additional speakers include: Nish Acharya, Director of the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, U.S. Department of Commerce; David Hinson, National Director of the Minority Business Development Agency, U.S. Department of Commerce; Jiyoung Park, Associate Administrator for Small Business Utilization, U.S. General Services Administration; Brian Highsmith, Policy Advisor at the White House National Economic Council; and Paulo Pontemayor, Advisor at the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum.
A panel of industry leaders shared their success stories and experience partnering with the SBA, including Christine Do, President of SoftTech Consulting; Dolly Oberoi, CEO of C2 Technologies; Venkat Subramanian, President & CEO of Angarai International; and, Mei Xu, CEO & Founder of Chesapeake Bay Candle.
